Port Charlotte Beach Park

Featuring a man-made beach and perfect views of spectacular sunsets, there’s plenty to do at this park. Port Charlotte Beach Park also offers accessible parking and restrooms. Amenities include a boardwalk with fishing pier, boat ramp, ADA-accessible canoe/kayak launch, four blended pickleball/tennis courts, horseshoe pits, bocce courts, basketball and volleyball courts, playground area, small shelters with picnic tables, two large rentable pavilions, restrooms, heated swimming pool, and a recreation center. The park is also home to the Charlotte Harbor Community Sailing Center. Parking is .75¢ per hour, currently payable only via the Park Mobile app.

Englewood Beach at Chadwick Park

This pristine beach offers white sand, sparkling Gulf waters, and spectacular sunset views year-round. Beach wheelchairs are available free of charge, on a help-yourself basis, 7 days a week, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Amenities include a 900-foot boardwalk with three covered lookouts, accessible parking and restroom facilities, showers, water stations, volleyball courts, basketball court, horseshoe pits, playground area, four small shelters with picnic table and grill, and three large pavilions, all of which contain picnic tables and charcoal grills. Parking is .75¢ per hour, payable via the Park Mobile app or with a Charlotte County Parking Pass.

Gasparilla Island State Park

Separated from the mainland by Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound, this island is part of a chain of Gulf Coast barrier islands. The pristine beaches at Gasparilla Island offer something for every beachgoer. The 1-mile stretch of beach can be accessed from any of the five parking areas along the gulf and the Boca Grande Pass. Search for new shells, sunbathe, go swimming or walk along the beach. Dolphins can often be seen playing in the beautiful blue-green waters of the gulf. You might even catch a glimpse of a manatee or sea turtle swimming offshore. The centerpiece of Gasparilla is the restored Port Boca Grande Lighthouse built in 1890. Swimming, snorkeling, fishing and nature study are popular activities that can be accessed at any of their five parking lots. Shelling is particularly good in the winter months along the gulf.

Nokomis Beach on Casey Key

Nokomis Beach is Sarasota County's oldest public beach. The Nokomis Beach Plaza was designed and built in the 1950's by Jack West, of the renowned Sarasota School of Architecture, and renovated in 2008. Amenities include: beach, swimming, lifeguards, boardwalk, canoe/kayak launch, boat ramp and dock on bayside, historic Nokomis Beach Plaza, picnic shelters, playground, volleyball, beachside restrooms, bayside portable restrooms, parking.
